Notes from Brenda
Spring, glorious spring. . . colors run riot through the landscape. Early spring brings a palette of yellows with the first to bloom daffodils and forsythia. They are soon joined by the complimentary purples and magentas of the Japanese magnolias. Tulips follow close behind in all colors of the
rainbow and the woods are soon full of the white and pink dogwood and the magenta red bud trees. At this time in Williamsburg, gardens are full of lush azaleas and rhodedendron in pinks, fushias, corals, whites, and even yellow. Purple, white and pink clematis are climbing on mailboxes and garden trellises, and iris, the flower of the rainbow, are nodding in the breeze. We have had a wet spring, and all green things are lush and full.
Our front door wreath is currently home to a family of house finches. There are 5 tiny eggs in the nest. The doves have adopted the akebia vine on the trellis this year as their home and robins have nested in the front holly tree. Soon all of the birds will be hitting our suet cages even harder as they feed their babies and before too long we will be entertained by parents bringing the baby birds to the feeders. The lambs have arrived in the Colonial area and I am certain that we have a greatly increased squirrel and deer population.
What more could any painter wish for that this gorgeous palette of spring colors and spring babies offered up by nature. It makes the fingers itch to hold a brush to capture some of the beauty. So pick up those paint brushes grab a piece of porcelain or wood and give in to your spring painting fever!

In consideration of air fare prices and the current state of the economy, we have decided to give a discount on the 2009 seminar fees. You will receive a 10% discount on the first seminar you attend, a 15% discount on the second seminar you attend, and a 20% discount on the third seminar you attend. This discount applies to 2009 seminars only and will be extended on final seminar payment. (This discount does not apply to merchandise purchased at the seminar.

The painting experience with Brenda is wonderful and the projects are always newly painted and beautiful! A wonderful dinner is held in Brenda and Robert's home on the evening of the seminar orientation, there are homemade breakfast breads for breakfast each morning and freshly baked treats from the Cookie Lady of Williamsburg for the afternoon snack. For you men who want to attend with your wives, there is much to enjoy in the Colonial area, wonderful golf courses are abundant and there are always several other guys here for male company.
